What's your favorite 9mm firearm ?

I'm actually looking for an assault pistol or carbine chambered in 9mm.

Since this is a bit restrictive - just post your favorite 9mm in any form be it an auto pistol, carbine, smg, or ?

Firearms can be rare or not - age isn't an issue.........and you can post a 'dream' gun if you don't own your favorite.

Now let's get on with the pics of 9mm pr0n !

Collectable? I would be happy with a Micro Uzi too, or one of the Steyr's

" The Czechoslovakian Scorpion machine pistols are some of the best known machine pistols in the world. They are probably the origin of the PDW concept - a weapon more effective than a handgun for vehicle and rear-echelon troops, yet no more difficult to carry than one. In addition, the use of the .32 ACP (7.65 x 17 mm Browning) round allowed the weapon to be easily silenced for special forces operations. The Scorpion was originally a Czech weapon issued to non-infantry forces in a variety of roles and was also widely exported and manufactured under license in Yugoslavia. Later varieties were developed using the 9mm Makarov cartridge and finally in 9mm P."

Re: What's your favorite 9mm firearm ?

I had just gotten to Ft. Bragg in 1990, and was "just looking" at one of the local gunshops in Fayettenam. Suddenly, a cool-looking weapon caught my eye. It was an HK SP-89. Basically, a bastardized and civilianized MP-5.

Well, a little fondling, and I had to have it. Despite the $1300 price tag, I rationalized it by recalling there had recently been a VA Tech type shooting spree somewhere, and I figured I'd better get it while I can. Got a couple 30 rd mags to go with the factory 15, too. And BJ Clinton wasn't even on the radar at the time!

Anyway, the unit I was in allowed us to bring personal weapons to the range during weapons qual, so I took this baby out there a few times. This thing was awesome in the shooting house - just point and shoot, and the red 'bad guy' balloons just went "pop!" The other guys liked shooting it, too. Smooth. Didn't know any better at the time and just bought Blazer ammo - it ate it just fine.

That said, I still love my Italian Beretta FS-92, and my CZ-75 P-01. The CZ is nice for carry - compact, feels good in the hand, 14 + 1, and it goes "bang!" every time. The Beretta's reliable, too, but it's too big for carry. Oh, and I can't leave out my Sig P229. Like that, too.

But the HK is still my baby. Here's a shot....

Just remember, shipping costs, plus you need an FFL to buy online, or get your dealer to order. Try to find the best price at a brick and mortar, or gun show.

I put the wiki quote marks in for ya. lol
I'm only into moderns, my two fav shooters right now are my Glock 26 and Itallian Beretta 92F.
I followed the gun shows for years and looked at the all the fine weapons when they were cheap.
I've owned many handguns, and some rifles, sold most years ago.
I only need a sellect few now.

Glock 17 with at least 2 - 33 round magazines -- They were originally made for the Glock 18 full auto pistol, but they work in the G17 flawlessly...

Re: What's your favorite 9mm firearm ?

Since you're also looking at carbines:

Kel-tec Sub 2000 - Uses Glock mags if you get the right model, I've got one and really like it. Can be hard to find right now. Normally all black... I don't like the green in this picture, but it shows it folded.
http://www.shoden.org/images/firearm...ec_sub2k-1.jpg

Beretta Cx4 Storm - Nice shooting gun, I rented one at the local range. Can be set up for left or right handed shooters. Fairly expensive.
http://www.shoden.org/images/firearms/Cx4_Storm_L.jpg

Calico Liberty... various versions - I've always thought these were cool, never shot one though. 50 or 100 round magazines. Also fairly expensive.
http://www.shoden.org/images/firearm...co_liberty.jpg

Hi-Point 995 - Never shot one, but held several at gun shows. Supposed to be a decent gun despite the low cost. Basically half the price of the Kel-tec Sub2k, and a quarter the price of the Beretta or Calico. Kind of ugly, but there are some decent aftermarket stocks for it.
http://www.shoden.org/images/firearms/HiPoint_995b.jpg

Here's the Hi-Point with the ATI stock... looks a lot like the Beretta Cx4 Storm:

Re: What's your favorite 9mm firearm ?

I would say go with a Glock 17 with a 33 round magazine and Streamlight TLR-2. This is my setup for home defense, but I don't normally keep the 33 rounder on as it is bulky. If you want the carbine try the Kel-Tec Sub 2000 that accepts the Glock magazine if you can find one and again go with the 33 round magazine.

Apparently they do suppress nicely.

Wiki:

"There is a variation of the Sterling submachine gun (L34A1) that is suppressed, where the only sound during its firing was from the reloading mechanism and the barely-audible explosive discharge, while the bullet speed is reduced to subsonic so that it does not make a sonic boom. Sterlings have a reputation for excellent reliability under adverse conditions and, allowing for the fact that a blowback action is used, good accuracy."

I just picked up 2 Glock 17 and my dad also picked up 2 Glock 17.....we have 4 total between us.

We purchased these as our ultimate fighting/survival hand guns.

I know the gun shop owner well - I have competed with him for years (he just quit the US Olympic Team).......he gave us what I think is a very good deal at $450 each......I could not get my hands on even a single Glock 17 in S.E. Michigan... I called 14 big gun shops.....we had to drive 150 miles across the state to the guy we did buy from......but at least we've got them in our hot little hands!!!!

I also purchased 2 Ruger 10/22 in Stainless/Synthetic.....going to buy 2 more.....

We are stocking up big time!

The P229 std high cap mag might not fit into the P226 as the P226 always took the all metal 15 round mags and they arent the same as the P229.

I use the 20 round mags and as you can see they fit both.

I use mostly 20 round mags in the guns I carry,

P226 on top P229 on bottom.

We wanted maximum capacity, full sized Glocks that fit our hands well. These will not be daily CCW carry guns.....there are for SHTF survival.

Wanted 9mm because all military is 9mm and a lot of police are still 9mm.....and I have 1 full 55 gal oil drum of 9mm brass and 28,000 bullets in 9mm. I'm doubling up on powder and primers this weekend....my order is in for 100 lbs of powder and 12 cases of small pistol primers (60,000) and 4 cases of large pistol primers (20,000). It has taken a few months to satisfy my primer order....these materials are getting in short supply. Also 10 cases of 22LR (50,000).

I am not shitting you....you better get your stuff yesterday!

A few years back I sold my Belgium Browning it was an original.
Good Gun but was never as accurate as I wanted. I accurize my own 1911's & just couldn't do the same for the Browning. Also the trigger would never break as clean as a 1911.
One last thing was the only accurate bullet ( for target) was a 358 cast with that gun.

Anyway I just bought this & it should be here day after tomorrow.
It is a CZ75B SA
A 9mm Single Action only version of their CZ75B
I have heard nothing but praise for its accuracy.
Will See

Marlin camp 9.

cheap. Mine was 225 new.

Accepts S&W 5900 series magazines. I have a plethora from 5 round to 50.

Shoots. All day long every day. I can draw smiley faces from 1 foot to 100 feet.

No hot loads or +p. It hates aluminum cased ammo.

Would love to put a removable suppressor on it. Too much hassle and paper though.

My favorite 9x19 pistol is a customized Colt 1911 that also has a barrel in 9x23. This allows me to shoot 9mm weak loads or shoot loads that equal or surpass good .357 Magnum loads. 9+1 of .357 in a easy to shoot package is awesome, plus it fits all of my regular leather.

Honorable mention to the Robar Alloy Extreme clone of the Glock 17.

Thanks for the info Strawman, nice to know I can get mags to interchange with my Sigs.

CZs are my overall favorite. The 85 Combat if you know trouble is coming. PCR for carry.

Absolute coolness factor...you just can't beat the P7.

While I have no personal experience with one, I've heard good things about the Beretta carbine.

Each 9 that I own has a quirk or two. Try a few before you buy if you can.
Take care,

Nice collection you have there - I think those Brownings are growing on me and the P-38 is definitely on my list.

I don't own any 9mm chambered weapons, but if I did it would either be a Browning Hi-power or a CZ-75 SA.

That's the only "9mm" I own. Think I paid a flat $100 for mine. It was too cheap to pass up. Works great.

I do have a really nice East German Makarov also which I love. It's the "9mm" halfway between 9mm luger and .380 ACP so not really the "9mm" this thread is about, but fun to shoot anyways.

I prefer revolvers myself.

I would say go with a Glock 17 with a 33 round magazine and Streamlight TLR-2.

Here is a photo.
